The Kurdistani Diaspora Center of Nashville strongly condemns the recent drone attacks carried out by the Iranian regime against camps belonging to Rojhilat Kurdish political parties in the South of Kurdistan (Kurdistan Region of Iraq).
On April 14, 2026, a drone strike targeted one of these camps in the Sulaymaniyah region, resulting in the fatal wounding of Ghazal Moulan Chaparabad, a 19-year-old Kurdish Peshmerga from Mahabad. She later died from her injuries.
These attacks are part of a continuing pattern of aggression by the Islamic Republic of Iran against Rojhilat Kurdish political movements, in clear violation of international law and the sovereignty of the Kurdistan Region.
The Kurdistani Diaspora Center of Nashville unequivocally condemns these acts of violence and holds the Iranian regime responsible for the death of Ghazal Molan Chaparabad and all others targeted in these unlawful strikes.
We are also deeply concerned by credible reports indicating that Ghazal may have been denied timely and adequate medical treatment after being critically injured. Reports suggest that delays and alleged refusal of hospital admission in Sulaymaniyah may have contributed to her death. If confirmed, such actions would constitute a serious violation of medical ethics, international humanitarian law, and the fundamental right to life.
We call for:
We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Ghazal Molan Chaparabad and to the Kurdish nation. Her death must not go unanswered.
